We use a Creative
Systems Analysis developed from creativity research, cognitive
semantics and group systems theories. This analysis defines key
issues concerning the particular creative context, including:
- Existing
attitudes toward innovation - stories about tradition and innovation
within the system; awareness of emerging ideas, and the levels
of anxiety and curiosity about difference.
- The cognitive-emotional
terrain - dominant conceptual frames, emotional investment and
recognized rifts in those frames.
- Encapsulated
perspectives - existing beliefs and practices that are unrecognized
or undervalued.
